Compostable eCommerce Packaging

Better Packaging Co. is the leading provider of compostable packaging for eCommerce. After years of witnessing first-hand the amount of packaging used to support eCommerce, founders Rebecca Percasky and Kate Bezar created The Better Packaging Co. to take matters into their own hands.

SEKO Logistics, who manage over five million eCommerce shipments per year, expects immediate interest in this compostable packaging, alongside all of the other Better Packaging sustainable eCommerce packaging products

“SEKO is committed to improving the environment and giving our clients new solutions to support their sustainability programs. We are delighted to be working with Better Packaging and see this as a partnership with a Global ambition to make a real, positive difference. New consumer research shows that international shoppers want this too because they are highly aware of their environmental impact and are choosing to buy from brands that offer sustainable packaging solutions. Ecommerce industry reports show that 48% of consumers want recyclable packaging. Packaging and logistics, especially eCommerce fulfilment, go hand-in-hand. While we can’t eliminate packaging, we can all take steps as businesses and consumers to improve the world we live in.”

Sustainability Revenue

While this move is great news from a sustainability perspective, these types of collaborations are becoming increasingly important commercially.

Any company operating within the eCommerce and retail space should be seeing that sustainability is becoming more than just a ‘nice-to-have’. The eco-credentials of a business are becoming an increasingly important factor in consumer buying decisions. Fast-forward a couple of years and these eco-credentials will likely become a prominent factor in conversion rates.

This growing importance of sustainability to retailers will, in turn, affect their decision-making criteria when choosing something like a logistics partner. This presents both a massive challenge and opportunity for a market shipping around 90 billion packages per year to satisfy the US $3.4 trillion of purchases by more than two billion digital buyers.
